I just noticed
this. I had not thought about this
before. There is a parallel here to the
story of the woman who touched the hem of Jesus' garment. But Jesus was still in the garment when she
touched it to receive His healing power.
Acts 19:11-13(NKJV)
Acts 19:11-13(NKJV)
Now God worked
unusual miracles by the hands of Paul,
so that even handkerchiefs or
aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and
the evil spirits went out of them.
Then some of the
itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord
Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the
Jesus whom Paul preaches.”
Here we have cloth
that simply touched Paul and was no longer touching him that is used to heal
people. And just to be clear this
power wasn't attributed to Paul because Paul was very clear that he was
speaking in the name of Jesus. Wow!
