Proverbs 11:25(NKJV)
The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
Make a decision to be generous to others, whenever possible.
I'm sure you have all had the experience at one time or another of going out of your way to help a stranger. It feels good doesn't it? That feeling is your soul being enriched! The more generous you are to others the more your soul is enriched. Why do you think that is?
Being generous of
spirit can be as simple as getting someone to smile, giving someone an
encouraging word. It can also be that
emergency bag of groceries to someone who is down on their luck, or a ride to a
medical procedure, or a thousand other things.
Think of some of the most generous people you know. Those who have a generous spirit towards
others. Don't they seem to exude a sense
of joy and hope? That is the richness of
the soul that Proverbs is talking about I think.
If you want a rich full life and a very satisfied soul, then make a decision to let generosity define you!
