Scripture tells us
the meek will inherit the earth. Based
on that Scripture alone a lot of people think that to be a Christian, you have
to be meek and mild and wimpy.
As I have said many
times, the Bible is a book of
balance. You have to take the whole
thing in context. Let me offer a
balancing view.
Acts 13:46-47(NKJV)
46Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold
and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you
first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting
life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
47For so the Lord has commanded us:
‘I have set you as a
light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’” £
Is there any one
that would argue that Paul and Barnabas were not good Christians? That they weren't men after God's own heart
as the saying goes? And yet it says
right here that they weren't meek in this instance, they were BOLD.
Sometimes we have to
be bold, challenging, and in your face.
Sometimes we are called on to simply tell it like it is. Sometimes we need to be meek while
representing God but sometimes we need to be bold.
Are you prepared to
be bold for God?
