For those who
promote the idea that Christians and Muslims serve the same God, one of the
things they hang their argument on is that both Muslims and Jews are descended
from Abraham. Muslims from the union of
Abraham and Hagar. The Jews (and
eventually the Christians) from the union of Abraham and Sarah.
Now is that a valid
point? I don't think so and I base my
opinion partly on the following verses.
Galatians 3:7-9(NKJV)
7Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons
of Abraham.
8And the Scripture, foreseeing that God
would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham
beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” £
9So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing
Abraham.
Notice that it
specifies living by faith. Of the two
religions, Christianity and Islam, only one bases salvation on faith. That would be Christianity. Muslims depend on their works, praying 5
times a day etc, to earn their way to their idea of heaven.
Now combine that
with the fact that Muslims deny the diety of Jesus and I think it becomes very
apparent that we do not worship the same God.
