1 Peter 1:17(NKJV)
17And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges
according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of
your stay here in fear;
Is impartiality a
characteristic of God? I believe the
answer is yes. We are told that God is a
God of justice. True justice requires an
impartial judge. Therefore I think it is
fair to say that impartiality is a characteristic of God.
Why does it
matter? We see a lot of people that want
to show partiality to one group over another in the name of fairness. They think they are acting in a Godly matter. In fact many churches have a division called
the Office of Fairness and Social Justice that do exactly what I am talking
about, favor one group over another.
But I ask you, based on the Scripture above, are they really acting in a Godly way by showing partiality? Hmm?
