John 11:40-44(NKJV)
40Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to
you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
41Then they took away the stone £from the
place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard
Me.
42And I know that You always hear
Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent
Me.”
43Now when He had said these things, He
cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”
44And he who had died came out bound hand
and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said
to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
Here's a simple
question for you. Do you have that kind
of confidence that God really hears you?
If so, how can you be so sure? If
not, would you like to?
First for those that
are sure. That part is easy for all of
us that have experienced it. When we
accept Jesus we are given the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:13(NKJV)
13In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit
of promise,
Jesus promised that
God would provide the Holy Spirit as our comforter and counselor and that the
Holy Spirit would live in us.
John
14:16-18(NKJV)
16And I will pray the Father, and He will
give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
17the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive,
because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with
you and will be in you.
18I will not leave you orphans; I will come
to you.
Before you have
Jesus you are praying to God who is out there "somewhere"
"hopefully". You want Him to
be there but you're just not sure. Once
you've accepted Jesus you now have the Holy Spirit living in you. You now have a direct line of communication
to God. It's that direct line of
communication through the Holy Spirit that gives you the confidence to know
that you know that God hears you. I know
that this will sound weird but you can just feel the difference.
Does that mean that
now all of your prayers get answered?
Absolutely! Does it mean that
they all get answered the way we want?
Oh please, we're talking God here, not Santa Claus! God answers the prayers in the way that He
deems best in order to fulfill His will for our lives, but we'll save that for
another discussion.
So how do we get the
Holy Spirit? We ask!
Luke 11:13(NKJV)
13If you then, being evil, know how to give
good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
That's right! You simply ask Jesus to be the Lord and
Savior of your life. If you'd like some
guidance with how to do that then just click here.
It's such a comfort
to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God hears our prayers. Ask Jesus into your life and find out what it
is like!
