As a financial
adviser I found this interesting. Here
is something that was written a couple of thousand years ago in the Bible and
it is exactly what the law is in the US today!
Hebrews 9:15-17(NKJV)
And for this reason
He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption
of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may
receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
For where there is a testament, there must also of
necessity be the death of the testator.
For a testament is in force after men are dead,
since it has no power at all while the testator lives.
What is another name
for a testament? A will (to keep it
simple I am not including trusts here).
This is a legal document that governs the disposal of your assets when
you die. Your will has absolutely no
legal power while you are alive. But at
the instant of death, it becomes the document that winds up all of your affairs
here on earth.
Isn't it interesting
that the Bible got it right so far ahead of time? :)
