2 Corinthians 11:1-4(NKJV)
Oh, that you would
bear with me in a little folly—and indeed you do bear with me.
For I am jealous for
you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may
present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
But I fear, lest somehow,
as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted
from the simplicity that is in Christ.
For if he who comes
preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you
have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may
well put up with it!
The Bible is full of
passages that tell us not to fear. I'll
bet if I took the time to search I could even find a passage or two that Paul
wrote telling us not to fear. One of my
favorites is:
2 Timothy 1:7(NKJV)
For God has not
given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
So why is Paul
talking about his fears? It just shows
that no matter how well we know Scripture and try to depend on it, as humans we
all fail at times. Even Paul!
