The above
quote is from Winston Churchill. Now
compare that to the actions of King Jehoiachin, King of Judah.
2 Kings 24:10-12(NKJV)
10At that time the servants of
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was
besieged.
11And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came
against the city, as his servants were besieging it.
12Then Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his servants,
his princes, and his officers went out to the king of Babylon; and the king of
Babylon, in the eighth year of his reign, took him prisoner.
He gave
up. It appears that he surrendered
without a fight. How pitiful is
that? He was part of God's chosen
people. Now granted, he had not walked
in the way of the Lord but still he was part of God's chosen people. Can you think of a better ally in all the
world to have than God? But he gave up,
he surrendered!
So
the next time you find yourself in a
tough situation remember Sir Winston Churchill's words and then turn to God,
the best ally in the world. The one ally
who can deliver you from anything and who always has your best interest at
heart!
