I've been reading
2nd Kings. I don't know about you but I
find 1st and 2nd Kings a bit confusing.
It's giving the history of the Kings of Judah and the Kings of Israel. All of their names start sounding so similar
that after a while I am kind of lost.
The one thing that
struck me about this today though is the amazing patience of God. Some of the kings are good guys for the most
part and some of them aren't. You see
passages like these two.
2 Kings 15:3-4(NKJV)
3And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all
that his father Amaziah had done,
4except that the high places were not
removed; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high
places.
2 Kings 15:9(NKJV)
9And he did evil in the sight of
the Lord, as his fathers had done; he did not depart from the sins of
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin.
But through it all
God keeps giving His people another chance.
And aren't we grateful for that?
Amen!
Have a great
weekend!
