I found this
interesting. There seems to be a cause
and effect here. Notice that we need to
seek and try to draw near to God before He will draw near to us. In other words God will not force himself on
us. He will always wait for an
invitation. We have to seek Him before
He will reveal Himself to us.
And although I don't
have any Scripture to back this up right now I think that the amount of Himself
that God reveals to us is in direct proportion to the amount of effort we put
forth in seeking Him.
James 4:7-10(NKJV)
Therefore submit to
God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God and He will
draw near to you. Cleanse your
hands, you sinners; and
purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Lament and mourn and
weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
Humble yourselves in
the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
