I'm not one who gets
all wrapped up in end times prophesy. As
I've written before, Scripture tells us that even Jesus doesn't know the exact
time so why should be expect to be any different.
Scripture does
however tell us to be vigilant so I do keep an eye on things and look for
clues. I ran across one today that I
hadn't noticed before.
Revelation 18:11-13(NKJV)
11“And the merchants of the earth
will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore:
12merchandise of gold and silver,
precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind
of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most
precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;
13and cinnamon and incense,
fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and
sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.
In my opinion the
common thread here is luxuries. One of
the signs of the end times will be that no one is buying luxury items.
If that is the case then we aren't there yet because since the global economic downturn in 2007-2009, companies who sell luxury goods have been doing better than almost any other businesses out there!
