Psalms 107:43(NKJV)
43 Whoever is wise will observe these things, And they will understand the
lovingkindness of the Lord.

It details the cycle of man.
We love God and worship Him. We start to get full of our selves and take credit for what God does for us. We get into trouble. God allows us to experience some punishment for our disobedience, either directly or indirectly, and then we are reconciled back to God where we love and worship Him again, for a while.
