There are many
places in the Bible that tells us things like the following.
Proverbs 4:23(NKJV)
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring
the issues of life.
Other versions say
it this way.
Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

Why is it so
important that we guard our hearts?
Wouldn't you know it, Scripture has an answer for us.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22(NKJV)
21Now He who establishes us with you in
Christ and has anointed us is God,
22who also has sealed us and given
us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
Quite simply because
that is where the Holy Spirit resides in us.
So how do we guard
our hearts. First by accepting Jesus as
our Lord and Savior. Then by being in
the Word daily and by being in prayer daily.
It takes focus and it takes discipline but it is well worth it!
