I'm not sure if
there is any hidden meaning in this but I found it interesting. I have been reading all passages that speak
of the spirit in some way. Most of those
passages are referring to God's Spirit and the Holy Spirit. This one passage stood out. Take a look.
Luke 1:17(NKJV)
He will also go
before Him in the spirit
and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the
hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the
wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
This is the only
place in the Bible that I have found where it says to go forth in the spirit of
someone other than God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit.
We are not told to
go forth in the spirit of Moses or Abraham, or even David. But we are told to go forth in the power and
spirit of Elijah.
Interesting!
