I don't know why but
this struck me as funny. Every now and
then we hear sayings and phrases enter into popular speech. Things like yada, yada, yada. Well take a look at this pattern from Ezra.
Ezra 4:10(NKJV)
10and the rest of the nations whom the
great and noble Osnapper took captive and settled in the cities of Samaria and
the remainder beyond the £River—and so forth. £
Ezra 4:17(NKJV)
17The king sent an answer:
To Rehum the commander, to Shimshai the scribe, to the rest of their companions who dwell in
Samaria, and to the remainder
beyond the River: Peace, £and so forth.
And so forth. That just seems like such a modern day phrase
that it seemed out of place to me. Made
me chuckle. Have a great day!
